Basic Waffle

Here is a basic waffle recipe, I really was wanting some waffles this morning but couldn’t find my old stand by recipe.  So I had to go searching online and I found two I liked and combined them.  I loved it, I don’t know how different it is from my other recipe but these were very tasty!

I want to get fancy with waffles and make some pumpkin ones but the kids are not excited about that.  Unless they are plain they better have chocolate in them, so we will see maybe one of these days I will be able to slip some pumpkin ones by him.

This should get you 10-12 waffles

Basic waffles

2 c flour
1 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
4 tbsp sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c milk – warm
1 1/4 stick of butter – melted
3 tbsp vanilla

I warmed my milk in the microwave for about 40 seconds.  Mix all your dry ingredients together first.  Then start adding the wet ingredients, but for the egg separate the yolk and whites.  Keep the whites for the end.  Whisk your batter up so it’s completely combined (a few lumps are fine)  gently fold/whisk in the whites at the end.

Make sure you spray your waffle maker good!  Oh and a tip I saw somewhere else, put a paper towel down under the waffles, helps so they don’t get really soggy.
